So before I fell asleep on the flight to Bahrain this was the view. I later woke up and it was night time and according to the map we were over Iraq. It was cloudy but for some reason I think that the flashes of light were not lightning. Just a thought. I mean I'm pretty sure that lighting comes from cumulonimbus clouds and what I saw was not cumulonimbus clouds.
